Sensorial Observation And The Idiosyncracies of Facial Hair

My beard is gone. Well, not exactly gone....it has moved. Entered the waste stream, so, it is gone from my face....

Which was cold yesterday (my face, that is). It felt like I had a wet beard all day. Even indoors. Weird. Simply putting my hand on my chin proved there was no wet hair there. Shaving my beard makes my chin feel really, really small...and less round.

I suppose I am on "spring" break after all. And if my "spring" break is going to begin with the biggest snowstorm that Northeast Ohio has seen in years I might as well think spring and go with the naked chin for a spell. Last year I think my naked chin lasted less than a week, before the short beard was maintained through the summer. This is truly one of the joys of being a man......contemplating what to do with your beard.

Next winter maybe I'll let it grow a little longer......put a windmill in it.
Like this guy......

Cool, eh??

scarves help protect hairless chins pretty well...just so you have alternatives

good luck with your windmill aspirations :P

I've often wondered how it felt to a) have a beard; b) remove a beard; c) not have a beard after you've had one. I guess the last one is pretty difficult to imagine because I've not experienced having a beard... but nothing's impossible. Right?

Stay warm out there. I was also going to suggest wrapping a scarf around your face. But that seems like a non-bearded-person thing to say.

I hope to see you without your beard for a moment, it is always a shock when you guys shave.

Losing your chin and about 5-10 years is always fun, especially since it is so rare to see you without one.

: )

Hmm, think about how much green energy that windmill beard could generate while cruising along in aero position on your bike!!!

YOU'RE BRANDON!!!!
I am soooooo sorry!!! I met you last night and didn't realize that was you until reading your blog and seeing that you shaved off your beard!!! AHAHAHAHAHA!!! Blogs are so crazy - but you are lucky I didn't realize who you were because I would have bombarded you with renewable energy and sustainability topics and we would have bored everyone around us!!
